Dangerous, badly deteriorated pavement outside 5A
Reported via mobile in the Public footpath or cyclepath category anonymously at 09:19, Monday 24 August 2026
Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 9992687.
The pavement outside 5A Eyebury Road, Eye, Peterborough, PE6 7TB is badly deteriorated over a substantial stretch, with broken and crumbling surfacing, loose aggregate, uneven previous patch repairs, exposed underlying material, cracks and changes in level. My young grandson has already fallen on this pavement and sustained bad grazes. He was extremely upset and distressed following the fall. This is not one isolated defect. The whole section is in poor condition and I am concerned that somebody else could be injured more seriously if it is not properly repaired. A neighbouring resident also regularly uses a mobility scooter and has to travel over this uneven surface, which makes the condition of the pavement particularly concerning for people with mobility difficulties, wheelchair users, parents with pushchairs, older residents and children. Please urgently inspect the entire affected stretch rather than assessing just one individual hole. I am requesting that the overall cumulative deterioration is considered and that proper resurfacing or a lasting repair is considered rather than further small patch repairs. Please record that an injury has already occurred at this location and provide me with a reference number and the outcome of the inspection.
