Unhealthy Tree

Reported via desktop in the Problem with fungi category anonymously at 10:53, Monday 27 July 2026

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 9852464.

This tree does not look to be in the best of health, with a lot of (what I assume are) dead branches. I was wondering if there was anything that could be done to help it, as it's a nice tree and would be a shame for it to get worse. A good few branches have fallen off over the last week or so, and I'm a little worried about the cars parked underneath it (and the footpath too). I recall last year (8/4/25) some people came to remove a lot of branches (not sure why), but there were no leaves on the tree, so difficult to know if what they removed was dead or alive, so I thought it might be helpful to send a picture of what it looks like when the leaves were out in case the same work was required again. See attached picture for evidence of which branches of the tree are dead and which are alive.

Unfortunately this tree appears to have been vandalised with drill marks made into the base of trunk a while ago, the tree has been monitored but due to the crown vitality becoming very poor it has now been scheduled for removal

State changed to: No further action
