Tree not pruned enough
Reported via mobile in the Overgrown trees category anonymously at 16:50, Tuesday 30 June 2026
Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 9710307.
So this tree has been faulted twice, once with ref 7882304 and once with ref 9266789 so no need to repeat the concerns however the tree surgeons arrived today to complete the job but did not trim back one branch that over hangs the public footpath and so consequently the fruit is already falling on the floor and will cause a hazard to anyone using the path, the fruit is sticky and slippery and the whole point of the fault was to trim back these branches, how can this be deemed to be a satisfactory job?

Thanks for your enquiry regarding a council-owned tree.
In accordance with the Peterborough Tree & Woodland Strategy 2018-2028, a qualified tree surveyor has visited the site, assessed your request and concluded that there is no need to undertake tree works.
We don't prune or remove council-owned trees because they are considered too big or too tall unless it is deemed to be dangerous.
All council-owned trees are surveyed by a qualified surveyor for safety every one-to-five years, depending on how much the area surrounding them is used. We also carry out maintenance work if it's needed.
For further information please read the Peterborough Tree & Woodland Strategy 2018-2028
I trust this answers your enquiry, however, should you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact Aragon Direct Services - Trees@Peterborough.gov.uk
