Large over hanging branch
Reported via mobile in the Hanging / broken branch category anonymously at 10:41, Thursday 30 April 2026
Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 9378143.
One of the silver birches, along the tree-line, looks like it has a large broken branch. With the high winds we've been experiencing, and the fact that the tree is in full bloom, it could snap and could seriously injure a walker. It's approx 15ft off the floor. Has been broken at least 10 days

Works recommended
Thanks for your enquiry regarding a Council owned tree.
A qualified tree surveyor has assessed your request and following a site visit has recommended works. On completion of the works you may feel the task undertaken may not fully address the issue raised. Aragon Direct Services employ qualified tree surveyors to undertake the inspections and all works recommended are in accordance within the guidance contained within the Peterborough Tree & Woodland Strategy 2018-2028.
Continued management of all our trees forms an integral part of this strategy. All Council owned trees are surveyed by a qualified surveyor for safety every one-to-five years, depending on how much the area surrounding them is used. Where inspection identifies maintenance work it is scheduled in accordingly with safety issues forming the highest priority.
For further information please read the Peterborough Tree & Woodland Strategy 2018-2028
