Overhanging branch has a large split along it.

A large branch, which overhangs my garden, has a large split along it. This would cause significant damage to my garden fence, should it break. I have only noticed it today so don’t feel it has been there for long, which causes more concern as the split is very long

  • Works recommended

    Thanks for your enquiry regarding a Council owned tree.

    A qualified tree surveyor has assessed your request and following a site visit has recommended works. On completion of the works you may feel the task undertaken may not fully address the issue raised. Aragon Direct Services employ qualified tree surveyors to undertake the inspections and all works recommended are in accordance within the guidance contained within the Peterborough Tree & Woodland Strategy 2018-2028.

    Continued management of all our trees forms an integral part of this strategy. All Council owned trees are surveyed by a qualified surveyor for safety every one-to-five years, depending on how much the area surrounding them is used. Where inspection identifies maintenance work it is scheduled in accordingly with safety issues forming the highest priority.
