The appears to be a fault

Reported via mobile in the Temporary category anonymously at 12:52, Thursday 5 February 2026

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 8845231.

The lights seem to be changing approximately every 30 seconds to allow pedestrians to cross even though there is nobody near the crossing and nobody has pushed the button to request the signal change. I observed this over several minutes so I know the request button hadn't been pressed. Also I have noticed that the pedestrian light doesn't illuminate when the button is pressed on the unit attached to the post located on the left side if you were crossing back towards the housing estate.
