Car been here 9 days and blocking pathway
Reported via desktop in the Abandoned vehicles category anonymously at 10:24, Friday 9 January 2026
Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 8654962.
This car has been here 9 days. Originally the back door was wide open which I shut for them. The problem us they are blocking the path way behind so I cannot access my property. I cannot get my bin out and havent been able to for 2 weeks now. i have asked neighbours, posted on facebook group, left a note on the car. its not been moved at all and I NEED to be able to take my bins out as it is now becoming a hazard for my 3 year old child. i have also reported to the police

Thank you for your report.
Unfortunately, customer services are unable to log this as an abandoned vehicle at the current moment because the vehicle is currently taxed till: 1 January 2027
However if there are significant damaged such as, run down or unroadworthy, for example has, missing wheels or broken windows, then please email us directly (ask@peterborough.gov.uk) quoting your fix my street reference number and we can then pass this onto the enforcement officers to look into.
The council will not normally remove a vehicle that is taxed and in good condition unless there is strong evidence that it has not been in use for a long time and has been left on the highway or on private land without permission of the landowner
Additional Information Below From PCC Website: https://www.peterborough.gov.uk/ community-safety/ abandoned-vehicles
Please note: If the vehicle is causing a parking problem but not abandoned, please email parking.enforcement@peterborough.gov.uk. If you want to report a vehicle that is causing an obstruction of the highway and is a possible safety hazard, please call the Police on 101. If the suspected abandoned vehicle is on land owned by a residential social landlord such as Cross keys Homes you should report it to them in the first instance.
