  • Thank you for your report.

Unfortunately, customer services are unable to log this as an abandoned vehicle at this current time because the vehicle has a SORN status, and whilst it doesn't have MOT, the council cannot enforce on this

However, if there are significant damaged such as, run down or unroadworthy, for example has flat tyres, missing wheels or broken windows, then please email us directly (ask@peterborough.gov.uk) quoting your fix my street reference number and we can then pass this onto the enforcement officers to look into.

Peterborough City Council do not deal with No Insurance or No MOT either. This is a Police matter, and you would need to contact them on 101.

If there is an obstruction of the road or pavement or blocking drive this is the responsibility of the police to investigate and enforce. They can be contacted on 101.

People often confuse a genuinely abandoned vehicle that PCC enforcement team have the powers to tackle and remove, with a nuisance and/or untaxed vehicle we can't do anything about.

The council will only remove a vehicle if the investigating Officer is satisfied that the vehicle is abandoned in accordance with set criteria, in making this decision the Investigating Officer will consider a range of factors such as the age and condition of the vehicle, whether it is in tax, and anything that indicates that the vehicle is not in regular use.
