Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to formally report dangerous icy road conditions near Eyrescroft School and to raise serious safety concerns following two road traffic accidents that have occurred in this area within the last week.
The road in question regularly becomes icy, particularly during cold weather, creating a significant hazard for motorists, pedestrians, and schoolchildren. Despite these risks, no preventative measures appear to be in place, such as gritting, warning signage, or temporary traffic controls.
I have previously contacted the council by phone regarding this issue and was informed that there is “nothing that can be done.” Given the recent accidents in such close proximity to a school, this response is deeply concerning. The current situation presents an ongoing and foreseeable risk to public safety.
I respectfully request that the council urgently reviews this location and considers appropriate action, including but not limited to:
Regular gritting during icy conditions
Installation of warning signs
A safety assessment of the road, particularly during school hours
I would appreciate written confirmation that this report has been logged and details of any steps that will be taken to address the issue.
