Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 8531250.
The 40 mph speed restriction signs or lack of from the junction of the B1443 Thorney Road into the Werrington bridge Road appears not comply to the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions.
A 40 mph limit is unenforceable if it has missing or unclear signs at start and the end of the zone and the absence of signs that repeat the limit, which complicates enforcement.
A survey is required to ensure signage complies with regulations.
Residents of Werrington Bridge Road have been experiencing a significant increase in traffic for many years. Vehicles frequently exceed 60 mph and overtake at high speeds through the densely populated area, creating excessive noise and vibrations from larger vehicles. The limited footpaths and the need for schoolchildren to catch their buses with residents attempting to gain access to and from their homes contribute to potentially hazardous conditions. Many vehicles including heavy goods vehicles use this road as a shortcut to and from the Paston Parkway to the B1443 Thorney Road.
