Big distortion of road

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 8521329.

There is a major sunken portion of the road, this causes vehicles to lurch all over the road if you try to drive over it or you have to swerve on to the opposite side of the road to avoid it.

  • Peterborough City Council have already identified a potential scheme in this area.

    We are aware of the subsidence which has affected many roads in the Newborough and Thorney area. School road is to be assessed for possible inclusion in the major works resurfacing programme 2026/27 alongside other similarly affected roads.

    Outcome of the assessments is expected in January 2026.
