Thank you for your report.
Unfortunately, customer services are unable to log this as an abandoned vehicle because the vehicle is currently taxed till: ✓ Taxed - Tax due: 1 January 2026
Licensed Vehicles: Taxis and private hire vehicles licensed by Peterborough City Council do not require a standard MOT certificate if they are tested by or on behalf of the council. Instead, they receive an exemption certificate, provided the vehicle passes a test that meets or exceeds MOT standards. [gov.uk] Testing Standards: These council-conducted tests must be at least equivalent to the national MOT test. Some councils may impose stricter standards than the MOT. However if there are significant damaged such as, run down or unroadworthy, for example has flat tyres, missing wheels or broken windows, then please email us directly (ask@peterborough.gov.uk) quoting your fix my street reference number and we can then pass this onto the enforcement officers to look into.
The council will not normally remove a vehicle that is taxed and in good condition unless there is strong evidence that it has not been in use for a long time and has been left on the highway or on private land without permission of the landowner
