Fly tipping

Reported via mobile in the General fly tipping category anonymously at 17:59, Tue 21 October 2025

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 8323422.

It has come to my attention that since the installation of a barrier near the entrance to the site on Norwood Lane PE4 7AB there has been a noticeable and significant increase in illegally dumped waste in the surrounding area. While the barrier may have been intended to control access or improve security, it appears to have had the opposite effect by encouraging individuals to dump waste insideand ourside the restricted area, rather than disposing of it lawfully. The type of waste being left includes domestic rubbish but may also continental some hazardus chamicals. This is not only causing an environmental blight but also poses serious public health risks to residents, visitors, and wildlife. The situation is becoming unsustainable and requires urgent intervention.

  • Aragon Direct Services were unable to clear the reported fly-tip. This may be due to one of the following reasons: the items could not be located, they may be situated on private land, they may contain hazardous materials such as asbestos requiring specialist removal, or the report may be a duplicate of one already received.

Even if your report is marked as closed – no further action, please be assured that it will still be reviewed. The Peterborough City Council Customer Services Access Specialist Team will carry out further investigation and respond with an outcome.

Please note that fly-tipping is only cleared from land owned or maintained by Peterborough City Council. Aragon Direct Services are not permitted to remove waste from private land, as this remains the responsibility of the landowner.

In some cases, the council’s environmental enforcement team may also carry out further investigation.

State changed to: No further action
