Abandoned outside someone’s house
Reported via mobile in the Abandoned vehicles category by James Phillips at 09:47, Sat 11 October 2025
Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 8281597.
I am writing to report a vehicle that appears to have been abandoned outside our property on [Cranwell Way].
Details: • The car has been parked in the same position for several weeks and has not been moved. • I have been informed that the owners live approximately 100m down the road on Cranwell Way. • I was also told that this is their third vehicle, which they cannot fit on their own driveway. • The vehicle was previously parked on a neighbour’s drive & never moved and was only moved when new neighbours moved in a couple of weeks ago. • It has now been left permanently outside our property, and it is not associated with anyone living here.
Given these circumstances, I believe this may classify as an abandoned vehicle since it has been left away from the owner’s property and has remained stationary for an extended time.
Please could this matter be investigated, as the vehicle is taking up space and causing inconvenience to residents.
Thank you for your assistance.

Thank you for your report,
Unfortunately, as the road is an unadopted road, it will be up to the developers/Owner to arrange for further investigation and removal.
A list of adopted/unadopted roads can be found on PCC Website, some unadopted roads may give the developers details to contact directly, if the developers are not known you may need to contact the land registry to obtain owner details

Please be advised our enforcement officers can investigate abandoned cars on private land for a fee. The request must be made by the landowner
If the owner wishes to proceed, we can then log this, and a consent form will be posted to them to complete., however the landowner would need to contact Peterborough City Council directly
