Reported via desktop in the Abandoned vehicles category anonymously at 18:02, Monday 8 September 2025
Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 8138093.
I believe the vehicle has been abandoned, stationary for over 5 weeks. I've reported via 101 to a feckless representative from the Cambridgeshire constabulary under the 'Road Traffic Act 1988', the vehicle is unroadworthy and in a dangerous condition, no front bumper. It's also an offence under the 'Vehicle Excise and Registration Act 1994' not to display front and rear number plates, no front number plate. Despite all that information the person I spoke to from the constabulary was adamant that the council did their job for them. There may well have been a malicious post on twitter, now X, that required 5 of their armed team to respond, hence prioritising what they could cope with, I don't know, or in fact a car parked on the highway with no bumper or number plate in fact does break any of the above laws, again I can't be sure? So, Peterborough council please can you pick up this issue and resolve. Thank you.
