Uneven road surface
Reported via mobile in the Other public road issue category anonymously at 15:03, Wed 3 September 2025
Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 8114095.
Not too long ago this road surface was relaid having fixed the previous uneven ground. It’s now occurring again but worse than before. This mainly affects the side heading towards crowland, though the side heading towards Peterborough is cracking quite badly. The structure of the road needs repairing significantly to prevent the constant subsidence.

The extremely dry and hot summer has led to subsidence and cracking of a large number of roads within the authority's area particularly around the Thorney and Newborough area. The Council is currently assessing the damaged roads and compiling a programme of sites for repair in order of priority. In the interim there may need to be some temporary repairs or even warning signs to reduce speed in some locations. Routine monitoring of affected roads will continue.
