Junction at Thorpe Rd/Thorpe Wood poor warning

Reported via desktop in the Safety fence or barrier category by Graham Last at 12:55, Tuesday 26 August 2025

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 8074646.

Dear Sir/Madam

The Highways Dept have very recently completed road improvements between the Thorpe Wood roundabout and the Nene Parkway.

I live in Longthorpe and frequently use the ' T ' junction at Thorpe Rd/Thorpe Wood. There are no warning bollards at the junction separating it from the cycle lanes immediately ahead. It is not very clear at all and I've seen drivers unfamiliar with the area drivr straight across and be forced to hastily reverse.

I notice that there are plenty of bollards along other stretches on the improvement and would suggest that half a dozen or so are installed at the junction to alleviate the problem.

I did take some photos of the site but unfortinately my computer skills ( or lack of ) prevent me from attaching them so I hope my description of the situation is adequate.

Yours sincerely

Graham Last
