Closure of footpaths at rowing lake without notice

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 7535192.

The organisers of the "Under" event on Monday 5th May 2025 closed numerous footpaths at the end of the rowing lake. If a Public Path Order was obtained, there was no required signage in advance of the closure or on the event itself. This is a regular occurrence despite advice given to organisers and those errecting barriers. Was an order applied for and if granted why was not signage put up.

  • Many thanks for your report. Under Events did have a legal Order for this event, as they do with all events they plan. They should have had clear advance warning signs in place for this event, two weeks prior to the event, we will raise this with Under Events.
