Damage to verge and walkway

Reported via desktop in the Public right of way - problem with access or damage category anonymously at 14:46, Tuesday 25 March 2025

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 7336044.

The developer building houses to the rear of Four Acres installed a new underground duct for BT Cables across the verge at the side of road on Thursday 06th March 25. We believe this land is maintained by the council and has been left in poor condition. We have asked the developer to make good back to the original condition (pending reseeding next Month) but our request has been ignored. The verge is used as a walkway due to the on demand bus stop further up the verge and now presents a trip hazard. Additional to uneven ground left from the works, various stones and rocks have been dug up and left on the surface. If PCC try to put a mower across the ground as is, our fear is a stone or rock could catch the blades and get thrown out onto the road, endangering the safety of passing pedestrians, cyclists and motorists.
