In parking bay across culdesac from 42 Ferryview

Reported via mobile in the Abandoned vehicles category anonymously at 10:05, Sunday 16 February 2025

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 7140822.

The same individual who left multiple vehicles abandoned in the same place last year has returned, we witnessed him park and leave this vehicle here on Jan. 10 and he hasn't returned. If not checked, we would expect this vehicle will remain here for months and he will likely return with more as has been the case previously.

  • Thank you for your report.

Unfortunately, customer services are unable to log this as an abandoned vehicle because the vehicle is currently taxed till: Tax due: 1 March 2025 However if there are significant damaged such as, run down or unroadworthy, for example has flat tyres, missing wheels or broken windows, then please email us directly (ask@peterborough.gov.uk) quoting your fix my street reference number and we can then pass this onto the enforcement officers to look into.

Peterborough City Council do not deal with No Insurance or No MOT either. This is a Police matter, and you would need to contact them on 101.

To report Untaxed Vehicles / No Mot / Driving or Insurance offence, please visit https://www.gov.uk/ report-untaxed-vehicle

To report Illegal parking (double yellow) - parking.enforcement@peterborough.gov.uk

If there is an obstruction of the road or pavement or blocking drive this is the responsibility of the police to investigate and enforce. They can be contacted on 101.

People often confuse a genuinely abandoned vehicle that PCC enforcement team have the powers to tackle and remove, with a nuisance and/or untaxed vehicle we can't do anything about.

The council will only remove a vehicle if the investigating Officer is satisfied that the vehicle is abandoned in accordance with set criteria, in making this decision the Investigating Officer will consider a range of factors such as the age and condition of the vehicle, whether it is in tax, and anything that indicates that the vehicle is not in regular use.

More information can be found on PCC Website https://www.peterborough.gov.uk/ residents/ saferpeterborough/ abandoned-vehicles
