Illegal parking near British sugar
Reported via iOS in the Car parking category anonymously at 14:53, Sunday 5 January 2025
Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 6933880.
You will see from the picture the issue is becoming worse. Dog walkers are illegally using the verge near British sugar to park then walk around the lake opposite. This has caused a lot of damage to the verge. The road is very dirty and the road markings are not visible because of the mud. A barrier needs erecting to stop this illegal parking and damage to the verge as a matter of urgency.

Thank you for your report.
It is not an offence to park a motor vehicle, with the exemption of a HGV, on a grass verge, pavement, or road, unless it is causing an obstruction or there is a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) in place prohibiting it, any illegal parking (example double yellow lines) can be reported directly to the parking enforcement team on: parking.enforcement@peterborough.gov.uk
Alternatively, you could request in writing for double yellow lines to be painted and see if this is something that Peterborough City Council can assist with. You can email them directly on: trafficregulation@peterborough.gov.uk
If you want to request grass verge/pavement parking restrictions, you can email: vergeparking@peteroborough.gov.uk
More information can be found here: https://www.peterborough.gov.uk/ residents/ parking/ parking-on-grass-verges-or-pavements

They can be contacted on 101 or you can complete their ASB form online to report the obstruction - https://www.cambs.police.uk/ ro/ report/ asb/ asb/ report-antisocial-behaviour/
