Fungi growth on Silver Birch

Reported via mobile in the Problem with fungi category anonymously at 06:54, Wed 11 December 2024

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 6846989.

Previous response stated “overgrowth on private land” this is inaccurate. This is regarding fungi growth on a silver birch tree which is on the council land. Please check land registry details for confirmation. Please review the Silverbirch to ensure it is healthy and the fungi is not causing any damage

  • Works recommended

Thanks for your enquiry regarding a Council owned tree.

A qualified tree surveyor has assessed your request and following a site visit has recommended works. On completion of the works you may feel the task undertaken may not fully address the issue raised. Aragon Direct Services employ qualified tree surveyors to undertake the inspections and all works recommended are in accordance within the guidance contained within the Peterborough Tree & Woodland Strategy 2018-2028.

Continued management of all our trees forms an integral part of this strategy. All Council owned trees are surveyed by a qualified surveyor for safety every one-to-five years, depending on how much the area surrounding them is used. Where inspection identifies maintenance work it is scheduled in accordingly with safety issues forming the highest priority.
