Tree overhanging garden of 64 Chelveston Way
Reported via iOS in the Overhanging branches category anonymously at 14:07, Wed 20 November 2024
Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 6764334.
There is a very large tree which is overhanging the roof and garden of 64 Chelveston Way. I am in the process of purchasing this property. I am very concerned that the tree which is on council land is now too large for the location and its proximity to the property. At least 40-50% of the thick branches are overhanging the garden and roof. It also looks like the tree is damaging the adjacent communal footpath. Please could this be addressed as a matter of urgency. Thank you.

Works recommended
Thanks for your enquiry regarding a Council owned tree.
A qualified tree surveyor has assessed your request and following a site visit has recommended works. On completion of the works you may feel the task undertaken may not fully address the issue raised. Aragon Direct Services employ qualified tree surveyors to undertake the inspections and all works recommended are in accordance within the guidance contained within the Peterborough Tree & Woodland Strategy 2018-2028.
Continued management of all our trees forms an integral part of this strategy. All Council owned trees are surveyed by a qualified surveyor for safety every one-to-five years, depending on how much the area surrounding them is used. Where inspection identifies maintenance work it is scheduled in accordingly with safety issues forming the highest priority.
