Dumped/stolen car - Dunblene Drive/Speyside Ct, Orton Southgate
Reported in the Abandoned vehicles category anonymously at 18:17, Tue 7 July 2015
Sent to Peterborough City Council 4 minutes later. Council ref: 658633.
A light blue Nissan car has been parked on the grass verge for some 6 weeks unmoved. It is in such a position that it was obvious almost from day 1 that it wasnt simply parked, but was abandoned. However even though it was reported to the council about 3 weeks ago their response was "it is taxed, therefore not dumped". No consideration seemed to be given to the fact it could have been stolen then dumped. The problem has now escalated to a safety concern. The passenger side window has now been smashed leaving glass all over the verge. Not only that but the car is now insecure and a temptation to children and vandals to either play in or wreck even further. if this had been acted on in the first instance then there would have been less urgency, but to avoid having to do anything the council have now left it until there is an urgency to the matter. There is now a duty of care issue on the part of the council to make the vehicle safe for residents (mainly children) by removing it, otherwise the chances are it will slowly be stripped out thereby becoming an even greater danger. The registration is NC 53 FBZ. Please deal before a child gets injured. Thank you

The system appears to work - it did take a while for the vehicle to be removed, however I think that was more down to council/contractor resource rather than the reporting system
