Neighbour has built stone flowerbed onto pavement

Reported via mobile in the Public footpath or cyclepath category anonymously at 08:09, Wednesday 31 January 2024

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 5513354.

Neighbour at 12 Suttons Lane, Deeping Gate, PE6 9AA has built a stone flowerbed on the pavement past his boundary. This surrounds both the lamppost and a water hydrant marker. It constitutes a potential trip hazard, is unsightly and, in summer, obstructs clear view of the hydrant marker.

  • Good afternoon,

In addition to the updates above, the highway inspector has attended the area and has advised that the verge is on a service strip but this is not maintained by highways. In addition, the wall is not impacting on the footway and as such, this is considered a civil matter between neighbours.

    Regards,

    Highway Maintenance
