As you can see the drain is blocked with leaves

Reported via desktop in the Blocked drainage gully category anonymously at 11:30, Fri 18 November 2022

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3974443.

I live at 15 robins field. Opposite us are a pair of drain covers see photo. Yesterday during the heavy rain I noticed a downstairs toilet was not flushing normally. Backing up slightly. However after the rain it returned to normal. This pair of drains is immeditaley opposite the right hand side of our house where our water run off and sewer leaves the property. I wondered if it was blocked in some way and it it looks vblocked with leaves. (However AW say their sewerage system is separate to this rain gully which is clearly clocked with leaves.) There are two adjacent drain covers. One on the path and one at the side of the road. It does look as if this needs clearing (but whether it was the cause of my toilet issue is a separate question). I hope this is helpful, Thanks

  • The carriageway gullies in Robins Field / RobinsWood, all outfall into soakaways, these are independent to the foul water drainage systems from individual properties, therefore if you experience continuous concerns with your toilet then this may be a result of a blockage in the pipe that conveys this foul water, as an individual house owner you will be responsible for this pipe up to the boundary of your garden, thereafter this is Anglian Waters responsibility. I recommend if this was to reoccur then you call Anglian Water and ask that they inspect their foul sewer network. The road gullies that drain rain water only do have some leaves however the complete village of Wansford is due to have all gullies cleansed this financial year.
