Block drain

Reported via desktop in the Flooded road category anonymously at 08:45, Mon 7 November 2022

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3943780.

Reported on ref number 3908028. Confused in your reply, whilst speaking with your workmen on site they said they could not find an issue. I suggested they rod the outlet from the drains, on doing so it became very clear that approx 600mm from the drains was blocked solid. I was told they would suggest the outlet to be pressure washed. This is a double drain a both were blocked in the same location. Can you please confirm this is a matter for Anglian water.

  • The Anglian Water Surface Water Sewer runs from the manhole located in the public footpath outside number 10, across the path and just in front of the double gullies in the road, before heading to the next manhole located in the middle of the road junction, with School Road. Therefore we believed when they were hitting a plastic sounding material approximately 600mm downstream this would be the connection with the main line (Surface Water Sewer) I will get the contractors to re check this prior to confirming this is an issue with the Anglian Water Surface Water Sewer.

    State changed to: In progress

  • We returned to site again and under took some more investigations, however once again no apparent issues could be found, we will look to book in some cctv works to ascertain if and where any defects may be visible and in which pipes they are located if at all.
