Broken E-bike dumped on Viersen Platz pavement

Reported via mobile in the General fly tipping category by Angus Wallace at 17:16, Tue 25 October 2022

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3914425.

You - PCC - have reported no further action will be taken on reference 3905533. The bike has been moved by someone unknown from the pavement where it was when I reported it and placed on the grass verge bordering said pavement, approximately 3 feet from its original position! What do you think will happen now? Perhaps there is a good fairy who will spirit it away? A more likely outcome is it will end up in the river. One of your excuses for not clearing it is it may now be on private land. It is right next to the pavement - shall I drag it wholly on to the pavement and report it again, placing a notice on it asking that it isn't moved so that you lot will do your job and remove it? Your decision to do nothing is ridiculous. Environmental Capital - what joke that is. Nothing but PR guff.

  • We were unable to clear this fly tip. It may be that we were unable to locate it or it may have been on private land.

Fly-tipping will only be cleared from land owned or maintained by Peterborough City Council. We are unable to clear fly-tipping from private land as this is the responsibility of the land owner.

Whilst we cannot provide further details at this time, residents can obtain information on land ownership through HM Land Registry if required. In some cases, the council's environmental enforcement team will investigate further. Therefore, this job has not been completed.

State changed to: No further action
