Oakdale Avenue corner with whittlesey road path

Reported via desktop in the Other public road issue category anonymously at 12:56, Thu 6 October 2022

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3872389.

Remedial work being done this week on cardea side of pavement adjacent to whittlesey road. The same path that had lights put in the centre of the pavement so you could not walk on it.

Contractors there this week, blocking off junction, preventing pedestrians using pavement and having to cross road on blind bend, no warning signs on approach, who is in charge of this?.

Have just accompanied an elderly relative on a walk and could not actually use public pavement, awful.

Updates

  • Thanks for making your report.

It will be passed on to the relevant department. We will endeavour to provide you with an update within 10 working days.

  • The works in question have now been completed, but we apologise for the difficulties and disruption caused to you. As it stands a Statutory Undertaker doesn't need to inform residents of general works carried out unless of course it is a road closure or disruptive works with a long-term duration. However, the Utility company in question, City Fibre, should have had a notice board somewhere on site detailing the permit number, name of the utility, and a contact phone number for any issues arising as a result of the works.

Please let us know if any further disruption ensues.

    State changed to: Closed
