On road outside 106 Lakeview Way

Reported via desktop in the Abandoned vehicles category anonymously at 23:10, Wednesday 5 October 2022

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3871245.

The white Vauxhall Vivaro 2900 Cdti Lwb van has been abandoned outside the house in a central location blocking any further off-road parking. It appeared on Sunday 2nd October and has not been moved since. It does not belong to any neighbours nor are they aware of the owner/driver. There is no trades livery of any kind on the vehicle. The following also indicates that the vehicle is likely to have been abandoned: 1) MOT: Its pass rate is 58%. Its MOT history from 2012-2019 inclusive is that it fails every year first for a range of reasons and then is certified as passing. There is no MOT for 2020 or 2021; the next one after 2019 is on 21 Sept 2022. 2) Mileage: Although the car has recently been taxed (expires on 1 October 2023) its mileage at its last MOT was c.129,000 and the average life for this model is c.154,000 miles. 3) Damage: The type on the front passenger side has a puncture. The aerial on the roof is broken. 4) Clinical cleanliness: The interior of the van's driving cabin is immaculate, except for an empty Costa can. There are no signs of it having been used. The interior of the van's holding bay is locked, with no windows, so it's not possible to tell what it contains, if anything. Externally the car is clean too - no damage or scrapes to the bodywork. However, the roof is now accumulating dirt.
