City Centre Paving not Reinstated Correctly

Reported via desktop in the Public footpath or cyclepath category anonymously at 14:52, Tuesday 27 September 2022

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3852489.

After all the recent works in the City Centre and digging up of the paved area they have not been reinstated properly and look a patch work of filled in paving. Much money was spent of the new paving so why has it been reinstated so poorly. The paving is not the same size and it has not been re matched in the the existing paving. It looks a mess and more money wasted.

  • The correct blocks for the reinstatement are unavailable and have a lead time of months. If they are delivered when currently expected it will be within the Christmas embargo for works in the city centre so in all likelihood the final reinstatement will be in the new year.

They are temporary and not ideal but the other option was tarmac which would have been worse.

However, please be assured that they will be correctly reinstated in due course. We will in the meantime monitor the areas to ensure that they remain within the national safety tolerances, which is 20mm for a vertical edge.
