Dysfunctional Drain
Reported via desktop in the Flooded road category by Leigh Titman at 07:35, Thu 8 September 2022
Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3810929.
Drain half way down school lane still failing with road flooding regularly. Following previous report this was inspected and cleaned, it was suspected that nearby drains may be causing a combined issue. To assist here are pictures taken at time of flooding showing the nearby drains to be functioning. If this could be re-looked at that would be great.

We attended to this site on the afternoon of Friday 20th November 2023, unfortunately Storm Badet, resulted in numerous reports of flooding. The contractors confirmed that the issue was a blockage in the gully lateral pipe where they think a bottle or similar was firmly lodged in the pipe, this after some high pressure jetting finally released and the was soon dispersed down the gully leaving the carriageway clear of standing water, at the same time the manhole located in the footpath near to the School Lane / High Street junction was being monitored and as quick as the water dispersed down the gully is was seen flowing through the manhole, thus suggesting the system was working well. We will continue to monitor and see how things perform during the next heavy rainfall event.
