Stanwick Court are worried about flooding

Reported via desktop in the Blocked drainage gully category anonymously at 08:40, Wednesday 17 August 2022

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3759901.

I am from Accent Housing and our residents at Stanwick Court PE3 6BW are worried about a repeat of the July 2021 flooding. The gullies running off Thorpe Road are blocked. Is there anything I can say to reassure my customers that there will not be a repeat?

Last time it flooded the ground floor of 2 blocks were significantly damaged and seven households had to be decanted.

Thanks

  • Our Contractors have cleansed the gullies along River Lane and at the Junction with Thorpe Road, under normally rainfall events they will deal with surface water adequately, should we experience the biblical rain event of July 9th 2021, then this amount of rain would simply overwhelm the surface water sewer system city wide.
