Since the introduction of car parking charges at Thorpe Meadows by Nene Park Trust (aprox 12 months ago???), there is constant pavement and roadside parking from opposite the letterbox (after Thorpe Rd roundabout) to the entrance of the Thorpe Meadows car park, by people trying to avoid parking charges. This results in traffic from Thorpe Meadows Car Park having to drive on the opposite side of the road as they come round the bend. Cars exiting the roundabout to access Thorpe Meadows Car Park, The Boathouse, Thorpe Meadows Residential and The Dragonfly are often faced with a vehicle on the opposite side of the road which is very dangerous for drivers and any pedestrians crossing the road at this point (this is really the only place to cross on foot to access the rowing lakes). Could the council include double yellow lines on this stretch of road. I do believe a collision will happen very soon which could be fatal. If people wish to go for a walk around the rowing lakes and they arrive by car, I think they should pay the nominal parking fees introduced by Nene Park Trust as this contributes to the upkeep of the area. This is a genuine danger to motorists and pedestrians.
