Following installation of new bollard allotment ho

Reported via desktop in the Bollard category anonymously at 10:44, Monday 6 June 2022

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3574045.

Sorry to go on about this - BUT - Today I have had 7 plot holders complain that they could not access the site with cars.

As you know the majority of plot holders only have spare time to work their plot and the Jubilee B/H & weekend gave a good time to get on plot. Unfortunately due to the Councils (highways) incompetence many of my plot holders cannot. Some are ladies and some pensioners - so carrying materials to the site is out of the question.

I was assured by highways the padlock would be a combination lock? BUT it is a good job it could not open or else there would be a number of claims for damage to vehicles.

The post is totally inadequate on all fronts -

It does not have a combination lock The lock is not secured by chain to the post (required or it will go missing) The locking bar is also not secured to the post (required or it will go missing) The location box is 14cm high - this will damage cars !!!! There are no handles making it very awkward to lift the post out of the Location box. (ladies pensioners - everyone frequent use) This is totally unacceptable considering all the information/requirements I gave the council hoping for a speedy resolution as this is a Security post for site access.

If a resolution could be completed ASAP it would be greatly appreciated.
