Tree roots and the span of them

Reported via mobile in the Problem with tree roots category anonymously at 15:37, Sunday 5 June 2022

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3572489.

The tree is located on the grass area of 59 and 61. There has been emails over the years in regards to the tree roots and how far they have span over the years. Recently work was done on the gas feeds and during this process the ground was dug up. The roots were noticeable in the path that has been dug up. The tree roots can also now be seen on the surface of the grass area which poses a potential tripping hazard.

  • Thank you for your enquiry, a Tree Surveyor has been to inspect and found that whilst a tree root has been exposed this has not affected the footpath so there is no arboricultural justification for any works to be raised
