Drain floods onto whole roadway area when raining

Reported via desktop in the Blocked drainage gully category anonymously at 13:25, Thu 26 May 2022

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3553639.

The drains at this point flood when it rains resulting in water getting closer to private property on opposite side of road. The street has not seen any kerb / edge cleaning units for some years. This is also contributing to worsening flooding issues.

  • All road gullies have been inspected and cleansed where necessary, however very little detritus was found in the road gully pots, the contractor noted these gullies along with the houses roof drainage outfalls into the adjacent area of open water where 3 headwall outlets were found, these are the responsibility of Anglian Water, should surface water flooding reoccur we would advice to call Anglian Water on 03457 145 145 and ask they check their surface water sewer outlets as these could be blocked.
