  • Thank you for your report.

Unfortunately, we are unable to log this as an abandoned vehicle because: The car is taxed till 01/02/2023

The council will not normally remove a vehicle that is taxed and in good condition unless there is strong evidence that it has not been in use for a long time and has been left on the highway or on private land without permission of the landowner.

The council will only remove a vehicle if the investigating Officer is satisfied that the vehicle is abandoned in accordance with set criteria. Unfortunately, Peterborough City Council do not deal with no Insurance or No MOT either. This is a police matter that you can report to the police on 101.

If there is an obstruction of the road or pavement or blocking drive this is the responsibility of the police to investigate and enforce.

In making this decision the Investigating Officer will consider a range of factors such as the age and condition of the vehicle, whether it is in tax, and anything that indicates that the vehicle is not in regular use. Please see below link on what PCC deal with and how you can report other issues.
