Icy conditions- Danger to public

Reported via mobile in the Request gritting action category anonymously at 11:21, Friday 14 January 2022

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3240157.

There is absolutely no gritting here, or grit boxes of any kind. It’s a complete danger to public safety. I myself nearly slipped and fell, so has my boyfriend and mother.

After speaking on the phone to a member of the team, who advised that the council exclusively grit the city centre only, which seems very unsafe thing to say from behalf of the council to the people. I would like clarification if nothing at all can be done about the dangerous ice skating ring we have here? So close to the council offices as well!

If there is no gritting that could be done around “private” roads then why is there access to the public? It should then be residents only public space and this would be the management companies responsibility, not the residents. The management company and us residents having to pay for public space to be gritted as well as paying council tax for the space, is ridiculous.
