Uprooted sign post posing risk of impalement

Reported via desktop in the Traffic sign category by Mr Paul Green at 09:19, Friday 7 January 2022

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3222093.

This sign post has not had a sign on it for at least the past 10 years that I have lived in Elmore Road. I suspect it once said something like "no ball games". In the summer it was uprooted by School children playing on their way to and from school but is usually left in an upright position. I am concerned that it presents a risk that children running, as they often do without looking, could impale themselves. As there is no actual sign, there seems no value in it remaining and I wonder if it could be removed please? Thank you.
