Fake road closed signs being put in place

Reported via mobile in the Traffic sign category anonymously at 22:45, Fri 3 December 2021

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3159024.

A 'road ahead closed' sign is being placed on the footpath on Croyland Road in Walton ~40m before the junction (on the corner with Council St) onto Lincoln Rd & on Mounsteven Road footpath ~20m from the roundabout onto Lincoln Rd. Both signs are weighted down with sandbags & look like genuine highways signs. Neither road is actually closed, traffic is diverting unnecessarily & the footpaths being partially blocked. The signs appear on a Friday & removed come Monday, the last few weekends. Can you confirm whether they're genuine please.
