Cycle Lanes on Oundle Road

Reported via desktop in the Other public road issue category anonymously at 22:21, Sat 25 September 2021

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3024871.

1. The Road is not wide enough for separate vehicle and cycle lanes. 2. 'Cycles Lanes' suddenly veer from kerb around parking places. 3. 'Cycle Lanes' encourage cyclist to pass up the near side of vehicles. Unseen. Insufficient room. 4. 'Cycles Lanes' suddenly disappear. 5. Cyclist travelling in the wrong direction in 'cycle lanes' against the traffic flow at dangerous closing speeds because they think they're in a 'cycle lane'. What happens when they meet cyclists going the correct direction? 6. Cyclists being abusive to vehicle drivers because they think they're in an exclusive 'cycle lane'. 7. Unbelievably stupid idea - do victims get to sue the Council? 8. Alternative safe parallel cycle routes not encouraged/advertised/maintained. 9. Cyclist not using lights at dusk or dawn or even in the dark. 10. Central white lines missing from parts of Oundle Road. 11. Cycles Lanes passing close to parked cars where doors are opened suddenly.
