Oil on Road

Reported via desktop in the Other public road issue category anonymously at 11:40, Saturday 11 September 2021

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2994007.

Thurs 9th Sept'21 around 7.15am Cycling down Wentworth street towards Bourges Boulevard, just before the back of WHS. Decided to turn left and go down the passage way between shops (aka Wentworth Street) The bike skidded underneath me and I was thrown to the ground (fortunately I was wearing a helmet etc)

It had been raining night before & there was what looked like the remnants of the rain on the road, where I had tried to turn

But after I got back on my bike, I realized my hands were sticky and I could smell the oil on my clothes. After the rain, it was like a mixture of Oil and Water

It definitely wasn't an oil slick, and it confusingly only looked like ordinary water. It was enough to throw me off my bike - some bleeding and tore my trousers, but nothing permanent fortunately
