Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2920763.
The cherry tree outside of number 1 Edwalton Avenue is causing several problems. The tree is About 14 meters high and has a large span of which about 5 meters hangs over my side garden. This stops a lot of natural light and sunshine to the garden resulting in excessive amounts of moss . The shade caused by the overhanging branches inhabits the growth of my shrubs , small trees and other garden plants. In the Spring the lawn and other areas of the garden are full of small cherry saplings which have to be removed. In late Spring/early Summer the lawn and garden is covered in fallen cherries and other debris from the tree. Due to some of the lower overhanging branches being so low people stand on my garden wall to pick the cherries which causes other problems. In the Autumn my garden is covered by excessive amounts of leaves etc.
The tree needs to be professionally pruned back to a manageable size . This may mean coming onto my property of which I have no problem with ,provided I am informed of when any work is going to be carried out.

Thanks for your enquiry regarding a council-owned tree.
In accordance with the Peterborough Tree & Woodland Strategy 2018-2028, a qualified tree surveyor has visited the site, assessed your request and concluded that there is no need to undertake tree works.
We don't prune or remove council-owned trees because they are considered too big or too tall unless it is deemed to be dangerous.
All council-owned trees are surveyed by a qualified surveyor for safety every one-to-five years, depending on how much the area surrounding them is used. We also carry out maintenance work if it's needed.
For further information please read the Peterborough Tree & Woodland Strategy 2018-2028
I trust this answers your enquiry, however, should you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact Aragon Direct Services.
