Stagnant water smell

Reported via mobile in the Other public drainage issue category anonymously at 22:24, Sun 1 August 2021

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2906912.

You replied to my report saying it would be the foul water sewer that runs along the back of my property fence that will be causing the problem but left it as no further action. The smell has been present for weeks now and is getting worse so someone needs to come out and sort this by cleaning out the sewer or something. It is not acceptable to leave us with this smell for an extended period. It is on council land so it is your responsibility to sort this out. If it was going to resolve itself it would have done so by now

  • The large Foul Sewer is the responsibility of Anglian Water, they can be contacted on 03457 145 145, giving the house number and postcode for the nearest property to the concern, and ask if they can investigate their foul sewer network as their pumping stations are currently moving large volumes of water, they may put a disinfectant additive in their system.
