Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2891641.

On the 9th of July there was flooding in Peterborough. Sadly 5 houses on my street was badly affected by the flooding , which caused water damage to all 5 houses mine being one of them . It was at rathbone Crescent. I had to get moved out and my housing association put us up in a hotel with my partner and my 2 children , we have been informed the work on my house will take 6-8 weeks so we have now had to be put into temporary accommodation . The same thing has also had to be done for my neighbours. There was so much damage on my belongings aswell . We now cannot attend our house due to it now being classed as a work site. I wanted to say that this should of never of happened and if the houses was built correctly this could of been totally avoided. My house does not have a step at the front or the back and there has also been a massive drain problem on our estate.

Sadly our housing association can only cover the house damage and we are somehow expected to put everything back ourselves which isn't going to be possible. Housing insurance cannot cover flooding either. I believe that this is down to the council to put right as this shouldn't of happened.
