Wall Adjacent To Footpath Alongside 1 Tylers Mews
Reported via desktop in the Public footpath or cyclepath category by Peterborough City Council at 13:15, Thursday 22 July 2021
Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2883220.
With reference to the above we have been asked to report back to yourselves with an assessment of the damaged wall.
We attended the site yesterday at about 12.00 and conclude as follows;
The front stone built wall with coping caps is approx. 2m high and 225mm thick. The wall runs flush adjacent to the footpath, then splays inwards into the driveway by about 1m.
This panel with an integrated pier has de-bonded from the main wall due to impact damage, there is significant damage to the centre of the panel and has been pushed back towards the hedge behind the wall by about 50mm. This part of the wall is very unstable and could be pushed over by hand with minimal force.
I would strongly recommend that this part of the wall is taken down as soon as possible to remove any potential danger to the public, or anyone in the vicinity of the driveway entrance.
Thanks for making your report.
It will be passed on to the relevant department. We will endeavour to provide you with an update within 10 working days.
