Repeated surcharging from shared foul water drain
Reported via mobile in the Other public drainage issue category anonymously at 11:45, Fri 16 July 2021
Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2869262.
On 16 Aug 2020, 23 Dec 2p20 , 18 June 2021 and 9 July 2021 this shared foul water drain in the car park between no 5 and 6 Ludlow Mews has pumped foul water out into the car park filling it over a foot deep with foul water and into the adjacent garden like an overflow pond . The concrete lid of the drain lifts and pumps water out with such force it gets worse on each occasion. Anglian Water come and clean up several days later but the problem continues . Ludlow Mews property is flooded and those in Lea Gardens behind . The surface of the car park is being eroded by the water and repeated scraping and cleaning . The main drain which into the sewer at the end of River Lane outside 11 is clearly backing up and because this shared drain is in the car park and lower than the road it back flows into it and pumps out lifting the concrete lid . On 9th July the front gardens of Ludlow mews flooded too because the down pipes could not drain into the surface water drain as they too were completely full up. The whole of River Lane a d Ludlow Mews was cut off. This overflow from River lane also flows down into Lea Gardens causing flooding to properties there too
