Thorpe Park Road flooded during the heavy rainfall on 9 July 21. Anglian Water advised this was a City Council matter and should be referred to the Highways Dept who should come and clean the surface water drains. Please can this be organised as soon as possible. Thanks

The gullies along Thorpe Park Rod have been checked on Wednesday 21st July 2021 and appear to be clear and working as designed, it is known for the Anglian Water surface water sewer to back up long this carriageway during intense rainfall, therefore should, this reoccur we recommend contacting Anglian Water on 03457 145 145. If you mentions the gullies or drains are blocked they will automatically say it is Peterborough City Councils responsibility. Our carriageway gullies are only as good as the system they outfall into this being the main Anglian Water surface water sewer, once this sewer is full, then our gullies become ineffective and ponding occurs, giving the impressions they are blocked. if the water disperses when 2 to 4 hours after the rain has stopped then all systems are working it is simply to much water overloading the network.
