This is the 2nd House Flood to my Property & others including Business Premises in South Street Stanground in just 11 months . As a resident of long-standing a tax payer of PCC & Anglian Water Customer I feel that no one is willing to listen ,help or offer any solutions,so this nightmare is continuing. It is time we had answers & actions . Answers on why ? Actions to stop the recurrence.

The gullies in South Street have been inspected and all are working as designed, the floods of South Street and also Ayres Drive is a result of the surface water sewers reaching capacity, once the surface water sewer on Ayres Drive surcharges then other parts of the network experience manholes surcharging in the lowest part of the system, Peterborough City Council have asked Anglian Water to investigate their surface water sewer network to ensure this is all free flowing. On July 9th this extreme rain event that was not forecast, it has been reported this area of the city recorded a rain fall of 69mm in just 6 hours.
